Barrus become exclusive distributor for Marvair air conditioning units

E.P Barrus are pleased to announce that they have been appointed the official sole UK and Republic of Ireland distributor for Marvair SeaMach air conditioning units.

SeaMach self-contained and split system reverse cycle air conditioners are designed for use in either fresh or sea water and are available in nominal capacities of 5000, 7000, 10000, 16000 and 24000 BTUHs. Units are built in 115 volt and 208/230 volt, 60Hz and 220 volt, 50Hz and are charged with R407C refrigerant, an environmentally friendly, non-ozone depleting refrigerant for use in Europe. (need to check this)

The units have been designed for years of dependable operation and have standard features only found on more expensive units. A 316 stainless steel base pan with four condensation drain openings allows the rapid disposal of condensation. The base pan is embossed to add rigidity and to keep the components free of condensation. An insulated pad minimises movement and sound.

The stainless steel control box can be attached to either side of the unit or even remotely mounted. A quick connect, twist lock plug facilitates relocation.

The evaporator coil is constructed of lanced fins and rifled copper tubing for optimum heat transfer. The coil has a baked polyester enamel finish – no –paint for maximum life.

A compact, single inlet centrifugal type blower moves the conditioned air quietly and efficiently through the air distribution system. The blower can be easily rotated to permit the conditioned air to be horizontally or vertically discharged.

Controlling the SeaMach reverse cycle air conditioner is a solid state, digital controller. The display indicates whether the unit is in the heating or cooling mode, set point temperature (oF or oC), cabin temperature (oF or oC) and fan indicator. The cooling or heating can be selected manually or automatically with the Auto mode. The fan speed can be controlled automatically or manually.

A wide range of controllers and accessories are available to facilitate the installation of the SeaMach units including pumps, grilles, duct transitions, adaptors, strainers and valves.

Tim Hart, General Manager - Marine Inboard and Outboard, comments, “The introduction of air conditioning will broaden our product offering and enable us to create a new Sub Division, ‘Cruising Comfort’ which will initially cover SeaMach air conditioning units and WhisperGen generators. Both these ranges will be available through the existing dealer network and OEM’s and it is hoped to widen this distribution in the future.”
