Walker Bay Boats Inc. has been awarded the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award for the new Genesis RIB at the Miami International Boat Show.

Michael Carroll, Director of Marketing accepted the award and said, “The competition was tough, there were a lot of great products and we are very pleased to accept this award.” With over 75 entries, Walker Bay was one of three boat manufacturers to win an award. “We are entering into a new market with our RIB and Inflatable lines and this award goes a long way to recognising the innovation our designers and engineers have achieved over the years,” concluded Carroll.

Genesis is the first injection molded RIB in the world. It uses a proprietary High Impact Marine Composite (HIMC) to create a lightweight hull that absorbs vibration, is durable and easy to maintain. The V-hull design incorporates dynamic hull channels, integrated trim tabs, and a V-Lift™ recess in the stern keel to optimise performance. Innovative features like the self draining floor, wheels in the stern, removable tube design and smart storage, to mention a few, make Genesis a practical boat with high-end comforts for a lower price. Over 40 proprietary molds create Genesis, the most custom built small RIB in the market.

Last year the company was awarded the best overall Marine Website in the industry in addition to winning the best manufacturers category. The Innovation Awards program is organized by National Marine Manufacturers Association and judged by Boating Writers International.
