More MerCruiser engines with Digital Throttle & Shift

Digital Throttle & Shift is now offered as an option on the ‘small block’ family of MerCuiser Bravo sterndrive and inboard engines.

The 5.0 litre MPI, 350 MAG MPI and MX 6.2 litre MPI Bravo sterndrive packages, along with the 350 MAG MPI and MX 6.2 MPI, are now available with the DTS option.

SmartCraft Digital Throttle & Shift, a fully integrated digital system driven by the PCM 555 controller through a dedicated Controller Area Network, is more reliable and robust than mechanical or semi digital products.

This product expansion makes DTS highly attractive to all applications of twin-engine inboards. The MerCruiser DTS features include:

- Standard Auto-Synchronisation locks both engine speeds together for perfect throttle synchronization while cruising
- Smooth and easy throttle effort with digital precision; no mechanical cables subject to binding and wear
- No scheduled maintenance
- Dual helm and triple engine capability
- Smart start prevents accidental starter engagement if the engines are already running
- Shift protection prevents drive damage if a high engine speed shift command is given
- Transmission Guardian for inboard models saves the transmission from clutch damage due to improper fluid levels by continually monitoring transmission operation

These features result in lower maintenance, simple and smooth operation for easy docking and perfect engine synchronization offering the ultimate in vessel control.
