New ‘live’ parts system to benefit Barrus dealers

Barrus has launched the next generation EDI spare parts ordering system, DIAL247, available to authorised dealers through the internet via Barrus’s own extranet at www.dial247.co.uk.

Designed as a combined ordering portal and electronic parts catalogue (EPC), DIAL247 now offers the user instant access to ‘live’ information including stock availability, order entry, back order status and order history. DIAL247 has the added benefit of reduced overhead costs by eliminating the charges associated with the previous DIAL system plus zero dial up costs if the dealer is on broadband.

DIAL247 was initially rolled out to all Yanmar marine dealers during March and April 2005 with Mariner, Mercury and MerCruiser dealers going on line in September. “DIAL247 demonstrates Barrus’s continuing commitment to providing the optimum dealer support systems and we are already looking to phase two where we will be introducing additional features including door-to-door shipment tracking” said Paul Brownell, Spares Parts Manager, E.P. Barrus Ltd.
