Barrus showcased John Deere final Tier 4 engines at Hillhead.
The John Deere 9 litre, and 6.8 litre FT4 engines will be displayed, the John Deere FT4 Integrated Emissions Control System elements and a 4.5 litre GSPU Stage III A engine.
John Deere has combined the best available engine technologies to enhance the customer experience whilst meeting the more stringent emissions regulations of FT4. The John Deere Integrated Emissions Control system technology configurations are tailored to meet Final Tier 4/Stage IV emissions regulations and customer requirements within each power range.
“We have ensured a reliable Final Tier 4 solution through 60 million Interim Tier 4 field hours and more than 500,000 hours of Final Tier 4 testing,” comments John Piasecki, Director of Worldwide Marketing, Sales and Customer Support for John Deere Power Systems. “The total diesel fuel and DEF consumption with our Final Tier 4 engines is generally expected to be lower than diesel fuel only consumption of our Interim Tier 4 engines,” John concludes.
John Deere Power Systems has recently reached two new milestones in the transition to Final Tier 4. The PowerTech TM EWX 4.5 litre engine was certified as compliant with US Environmental Protection Agency Final Tier 4 and California Air Resources Board emissions regulations. The 55kW model is the first John Deere Final Tier 4 engine below 56kW to achive Final Tier 4 certification, confirming customer confidence in John Deere Integrated Emissions Control system technology. John Deere also recently started production of its larger displacement Final Tier 4/Stage IV engines for models meeting emissions regulations that took effect 1 January this year, for engines 130kW and above. In surface mining and quarry operations, John Deere diesel engines offer the same advantages that have made the brand famous in the construction sector: uninterrupted power, ultimate reliability and low cost of ownership. They are already driving crushers, excavators, loaders, dumpers, gensets and air compressors worldwide. All John Deere engines undergo strict product verification and validation to make sure they meet customers’ high standards, year after year. John Deere’s engineers work closely with OEMs to select and integrate the most suitable engine for their applications, guaranteeing the best possible performance. And with more than 4,000 service locations worldwide, OEMs and quarry contractors alike can rely on the world-renowned service and support.
