Designed by Macduff Ship Design and built by Macduff Shipyards Ltd, ‘Scotia’ is a 12.5m Pilot Boat powered by twin John Deere 6068SFM85 engines.
Scotia recently undertook successful sea trials off Macduff harbour where she produced a top speed of 12.5 knots and a bollard pull of 5.2 tonnes.
Now back in her home port of Ayr, Scotia, operated by Associated British Ports (ABP) will be predominantly used for pilotage and survey work.
Captain John Munro of ABP reported excellent fuel consumption on the voyage from Macduff to Ayr and commented on the impressive torque and delivery of power from the John Deere engines.
