Supported by E P Barrus Ltd., Survitec invited delegates from the emergency services to experience its extensive range of safety and survival equipment first-hand at a Blue Light Demonstration Day in Bicester.
In an industry where every second counts and every detail matters, the event gave delegates from the fire, police and emergency medical service sectors a unique opportunity to interactively discover Survitec’s blue light offering. Guests ranged from procurement managers, technical specialists and frontline firefighters looking for a more in-depth understanding of how Survitec’s offering could assist with their organisation’s safety requirements.
Situated just five miles from Barrus, Grebe lake provides a 50-acre site for the Special Products Division to carry out year-round testing and trials of custom-built applications. Here, Survitec invited delegates to learn more about its range through interactive sessions both on and off the water, including rescue boat demonstrations. Attendees were able to put the Survitec collection of boats, such as the DSB 470 FR (flood rescue) and semi-rigid inflatable boats to the test with the appropriate outboard engine power supplied by Barrus.
Michael Bonney, Babcock International Group Fleet Engineer comments: “Having been involved in the trials and purchase of five DSB 470 FR boats for the London Fire Brigade from Survitec, it was fantastic to meet the Survitec and E P Barrus teams again to learn about and experience the range of products available. Thank you for the invite, the hospitality and for improving my knowledge, especially in the area of water rescue PPE and jump cushions. Excellent venue also, E P Barrus!”
Workshops included contact time with the Survitec range of personal lifesaving appliance – including personal flotation devices, drysuits and helmets. Practical demonstrations showcasing an example of Survitec’s bespoke inflatables, including the rescue cushion and fast inflation tent, also drew a crowd with Survitec experts on hand to answer any questions.
Mark Hart, Survitec Sales Director said: “At Survitec, we endeavor to meet with our customers regularly. Taking these conversations from the meeting room to an interactive environment creates a unique opportunity to showcase the most up-to-date products available – whilst providing an open forum to discuss the wide-ranging requirements of the different blue light organisations”.
Throughout the event, engineers from Barrus were on-hand to assist with any technical questions and provide information on the outboard engine range available to delegates which would suit their application and operational requirements.
