Engine Build Line Supervisor

SUPERVISOR.
Lead the production of world-class custom engine solutions, ensuring precision, efficiency, and safety at every stage of the build line.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a proactive Engine Build Line Supervisor to manage our specialist production line in Bicester. You will be the technical lead on the floor, coordinating a team of engine builders to meet rigorous production schedules while maintaining the bespoke quality that our Marine, Industrial, and MoD customers expect.
Key Accountabilities.
- Line Coordination: Manage daily build schedules, ensuring all parts and resources are ready for the production team.
- Technical Supervision: Oversee the assembly and modification of engines, providing hands-on guidance to ensure specifications are met.
- Quality Auditing: Conduct stage-by-stage inspections to ensure every engine leaving the line adheres to ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Team Leadership: Manage shift patterns, provide technical training, and ensure a high-performing, motivated team environment.
- Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and implement "Lean" methodologies to improve build speed without sacrificing quality.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict workshop health and safety protocols and ensure all PPE and tooling are correctly maintained.
REQUIREMENTS
Professional Experience:
- Extensive experience in engine assembly, rebuilding, or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Proven supervisory or team lead experience within a workshop or production line.
- Familiarity with diesel and petrol engine technology (Marine/Industrial experience a plus).
- Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS) framework.
Key Skills Sought:
- Exceptional technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to liaise between engineering and production teams.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and bill of materials (BOM).
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple custom builds simultaneously.

You must be a "lead-by-example" supervisor who takes pride in the output of their team. A calm under pressure, results-driven individual who values precision above all else.
