At the heart of the A500JS is the John Deere JD14 engine, a standout solution in its power band. It’s not just powerful — it’s smart and adaptable. With a power range of 298 to 599 kW (400 to 803 hp), the JD14 delivers the perfect balance of performance and versatility. Its flexible design, available in both single and dual-turbo configurations, allows generator manufacturers to tailor their builds for a wide range of applications. For end users, the engine’s straightforward maintenance requirements ensure easy, cost-effective servicing to help keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.

Andy Collins, sales manager at E.P. Barrus Ltd (the long-term John Deere engine distributor for the UK and Ireland) highlighted the JD14's advantages: “What’s remarkable about the JD14 engine is its impressive load acceptance, low fuel and DEF consumption, and proven performance — even in extreme conditions. The A500JS, paired with a Leroy Somer alternator, is ready to tackle a wide range of challenges. Whether powering construction sites, industrial plants, or emergency backup systems, it’s built to handle demanding applications with ease. A bunded base tank protects against leaks and spills, while a three-way fuel valve allows for flexible external fuel connections — enhancing overall versatility. Its weatherproof, soundproof canopy shields it from extreme conditions and ensures quiet operation, delivering just 76 dBA at 7 metres (23 feet) under full load. This makes it ideal for modern noise-sensitive environments.
