Yammer southampton press release

Reliability, durability and efficiency are the trademarks of the Yanmar marine diesel engine range, making it the engine of choice for a wide range of leisure and commercial applications including sailboats, luxury yachts, superyacht tenders, family cruisers, fishing and workboats.

The Yanmar 6LY440, 5.813 litre, common rail engine will be making its debut at Southampton. Rated 440hp @ 3,300 rpm, this engine is ISO8665 compliant and meets the US EPA Tier 3 and RCD Tier 2 emission regulations that become effective in 2016. Also available as the 6LY400, this new model will be released next year.

The smaller Yanmar 4JH110, 2-litre common rail engine will also be on the stand. Yanmar’s new JH-CR series engines launched earlier this year in Europe, set a new benchmark in small marine propulsion technology by bringing the benefits of common-rail fuel injection technology to units of below 110hp. Boat owners can now choose digitally-controlled common-rail engines from the Yanmar range with power outputs starting as low as 45hp. Improved performance, better fuel economy with reduced emissions and smoother, quieter running, until now have been available only with engines of more than 110hp. Yanmar is now offering all these benefits with a range of four all-new diesels with power ratings of 45, 57, 80 as well as 110hp. The new engines are an ideal fit for both planning craft, such as RIBs, tenders and day cruisers as well as larger displacement powerboats and sailing cruisers up to around 60ft. Williams Performance Tenders, the world’s leading jet tender specialists, will be showing the 4JH110 common rail in their new 2016 model year Diesel Jet on stand E053 at Southampton Boat Show.

The smooth and powerful Yanmar 8LV, 4.46-litre, twin-turbo, V8 diesel engine will be on show. The high torque, 8LV has a wide power band (320-370) and idles at 550rpm capable of crawling speed in the marina, aided further by a hydraulic clutch with both sterndrive and gear configurations. Maximum engine speed is 3,800rpm – well ahead of other engines of this type. Additional benefits include exceptionally low noise levels and reduced vibration, ease of installation and servicing.

MasterCraft Boats UK has chosen to offer their latest bespoke superyacht watersports tender range with an exclusive conversion to a Yanmar 8LV engine. The Saltwater Series luxury performance sports boats range from 6.10 metres to 7.75 metres. Yanmar was selected as the engine partner for the project because the EPA Tier 3-compliant engine is exceptionally quiet, smooth and compact. MasterCraft engineers have spent several months perfecting the custom-instal, a procedure that requires a very specific skill set to ensure that performance is not compromised in any way. Michael Hardicker, MD of MasterCraft Boats UK said, “The inboard diesel option means that we can now offer a real alternative to superyachts wanting to enjoy the MasterCraft experience. This is a particularly attractive option for charter operators, giving them a commercial edge in their tenders and toys offering.”

A 2015 X23 Saltwater Series will be on display on the MasterCraft Boats UK stand at the Monaco Yacht Show. MasterCraft Boats UK has also just confirmed that the new X26 Saltwater Series, the lastest addition to MasterCraft’s 2016 boat line, will be available as a bespoke watersports tender with a Yanmar inboard diesel engine package.
